Christmas came early in the form of A WARM HEART IN WINTER！ JR Ward hit every mark with this book in a holiday romance that packs an emotional punch。 Full transparency: I've never been a big fan of Qhuinn's and wasn't quite sure how I'd react to this book， but I can safely say it's one of my favorites of the entire series。 As A WARM HEART IN WINTER is a "novella"， it's much more character-driven than we usually see。 The diabolical Devina is nowhere to be seen as things at the mansion get crazy as a nor'easter winter storm blows in。 Qhuinn and Blay appear to be doing well， settled into their relationship while sharing their little family with Layla and Xcor。 An off the cuff comment by Bitty reminds Blay that he and Qhuinn haven't yet had a mating ceremony。 With that on his mind， the sensitive Blay allows insecurity to set in regarding his relationship with Qhuinn and when a tragedy befalls the mansion， Blay finds himself broken hearted and unable to connect with Qhuinn。 Qhuinn really shines in A WARM HEART IN WINTER。 He's forced to face some things that he's shoved aside， resulting in character growth that brought me to tears。 Seriously， I've never been able to warm up to Qhuinn， but in this book I felt an incredible， intimate relationship with him that has changed the way I look at him。 And， Blay's part in A WARM HEART IN WINTER really moved me。 It's clear to me that， like Ruhn， Blay is a sensitive soul。 Seeing him hold steady even as his heart hurts for Qhuinn made me love him even more。 As most of the book takes place at the mansion readers will enjoy time spent with all the characters。 For some， there are just glimpses， but the Brothers are right there when Qhuinn needs them， especially Zsadist。 We get to see more of Zsadist than we have in awhile and his fans will swoon over his scenes！ And， then there's Lassiter。 Like with Qhuinn， I wasn't much of a fan。 A WARM HEART IN WINTER changes that for me as well， so kudos to JR Ward for changing my mind not once， but twice。 Thank you to Gallery Books for the early copy of A WARM HEART IN WINTER， in exchange for honest feedback。

Blay and Qhuinn *le sigh* These boys have been through so much for their HEA。 It was well worth the trip。 My heart is full now and I won't worry about Q messing this up LOL。 I have been an avid reader since Dark Lover。 Each one of these Spectacular Vampires lives in my heart and head。 They talk to me （Might be a bit Crazy） anyway， if you are like me and still had doubts about Q being able to not screw up with Blay， you need to read this book， and grab tissues for Tears along the way

I totally loved this book。 I cried for half the book。 Not only because of Blay and Qhuinn but with Luchas。 I didn't even mind the side stories with this book as they all and tied in unlike others in this series。 This book was J。 R。 Ward back at her best。

Nobody plays with your emotions like I R Ward。The Black Dagger Brotherhood for all that it is made up of big strong alpha makes who fear nothing ---------well nothing except feelings that is----------- is an emotional rollercoaster。 All books have a theme， there is usually some danger， confusion and suffering before a resolution is reached。 But oh the males of the Brotherhood。 Unlike other series where each member gets their own book and then onto the next there is a continuity to this series。 Nobody plays with your emotions like I R Ward。The Black Dagger Brotherhood for all that it is made up of big strong alpha makes who fear nothing ---------well nothing except feelings that is----------- is an emotional rollercoaster。 All books have a theme， there is usually some danger， confusion and suffering before a resolution is reached。 But oh the males of the Brotherhood。 Unlike other series where each member gets their own book and then onto the next there is a continuity to this series。 We are often drawn back into existing members lives dismayed to find there is no happily ever after only a happy right now。 Because after all that's all life can really offer you ------- right now， no I e truly knows what comes next， unless your name is Lassiter that is。 I love that the Author （ to use a phrase from the brothers） keeps it real。 Several of the brothers suffer from PTSD though it's not called this， and often react in ways which show that although they have found love and are very happy with their loveds ones， the nightmares still come。 This book features most of the brothers and their mates but its main focus is Quhinn and Blay， I didn't even realise that At the end of their book Lover at Last there was no proper mating ceremony。 So this book starts off as usual with Quhinn on patrol in downtown Caldwell when happens to get injured Blay goes into panic mode convinced Quhinn is at deaths door。 Blay has been having some thoughts about a proper mating ， stupid thoughts， like does Quhinn not see them as a long term couple， does he not consider Blay part of his future？ 。 Quhinn is oblivious to Blays feelings as far as he is concerned they ARE mated 。 Then a damaging storm hits which brings danger to everyone in the mansion and while dealing with the damaging effects of the storm， the situation takes a turn for the worse and it becomes a life and death situation for some， causing Quhinn to undergo an emotionally devastating event。 But there are a mansion full of people ready to support him as he finds his way through the pain， Blay being the first in line。 。。。more

This books felt like I was coming home。It was so amazing to read this and see the ole faces。 But I was wondering where butch and the others were as well。 But amazing to see those two males get there act together。 Once again jr ward does it once again。No wonder she is my number one！！

Oh， wow！ What a story。 Yes， this was mostly about Qhuinn and Blay， but it was much， much more。 Zhadist is majorly involved with how Qhuinn and Blay overcome tragedy， as Z is nothing like we've ever seen him before。 This mid-year-release blew me away with its twists and turns。 Luckily， I believe in keeping a supply of tissues on hand because I really needed them。

I had a hard time remaining engaged with this one and I'm not sure why。 I enjoyed being back with the gang， I enjoyed seeing more of the kids， it was nice to get a bit more insight into several of what was originally secondary characters like Lassiter， etc。But I thought the melodrama and self flagellation fests were a bit over the top。 I am perfectly willing to admit that it could just be my head space at the moment。

I stopped reading my other books when this one showed up， and I started it and couldnt put it down。 While this was touted as a in-between novella， it really felt like a full-sized novel， and was packed with so much emotions。 Blay and Qhuinn always intended to do a proper mating ceremony， but life has a way of getting in the way。 When Qhuinn gives his male the proposal of a lifetime， however， they are excited for their special night and more in love than ever。 The party takes on epic- and I stopped reading my other books when this one showed up， and I started it and couldnt put it down。 While this was touted as a in-between novella， it really felt like a full-sized novel， and was packed with so much emotions。 Blay and Qhuinn always intended to do a proper mating ceremony， but life has a way of getting in the way。 When Qhuinn gives his male the proposal of a lifetime， however， they are excited for their special night and more in love than ever。 The party takes on epic- and immortal- proportions when Lassiter forms the Party Planning Committee。 The celebrations promise to be all that the couple deserves。。。 until a Nor’easter land locks Caldwell in a fierce storm， and things go from lighthearted to deadly dangerous。 With our favourite， 80's-reject dressed angel Lassiter， in charge of the party I expected the book would be hilarious， with a few tense moments here and there -- but I was totally wrong。 This is definitely Qhuinn's and Blay's book; Qhuinn really steps up， and I truly enjoyed all the scenes with them， even the love scenes。 I know some women are not fans of M/M romances but romance is romance to me。 The other two characters who really shone in this book are Zsadist who really opened up to characters in the book （and to readers）， and Lassiter。 I always knew that crazy angel had depth， and it was fabulous to see。 I try to make sure my reviews are spoiler free， so I will just say this series needs to be read in order， and when you read this book， make sure there is some tissue handy。 。。。more

I Laughed， I Cried。。。。This book was amazing。 It was an emotional rollercoaster and I loved it！ I laughed， I cried， I cried alot lol。 Love Blay and Quinn's story so much。 Also was so excited there was a bit of every character from BDB with a scene in the story。 Loved seeing how Z is healing， coping， and moving forward， it's a breath of fresh air。 Z has Always been my favorite and I am so happy for him。 He's a talker now lol。 Thank You Ms。 Ward， this book was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING！！！！
